Randomisation
The process of assigning study participants to treatment or comparator groups using an element of chance to determine the assignments in order to reduce bias and ensure the groups will be equally comparable.
Recruitment
The act of enrolling participants who both satisfy the inclusion and do not contravene the exclusion criteria for the study. See also Enrollment
Recruitment phase
The stage of a clinical study when human subjects or patients are being recruited to participate in the study.
